Chapter 03: Momentary Troubles ～ 一時的なトラブル

As always, Toast the tanuki awoke with an excited jump, ready for the day ahead.
いつものように、タヌキのトーストは気持ちよく目覚めて、これからの一日の準備を始めました。

He immediately ran to the cottage on the hilltop, where his best friend Charlie the dog lived.
彼はすぐに丘の上の小屋へと駆け寄りました。そこは親友の犬のチャーリーが住んでいる家です。

Upon arriving his clothes became caught on the handle of the front door, with a quick and strong tug he pulled himself free, tumbling into Charlies kitchen.
到着すると、服が玄関のドアノブに引っかかっていました。力強く引っ張ると、彼は服を振り払い、チャーリーの台所へと転がり落ちました。

Charlie, who was peacefully enjoying breakfast and surprised by the sound, looked up, a biscuit in hand, half dunked in her morning tea.
大人しく朝食を食べていたチャーリーは、その音に驚き、顔を上げました。
手に持っていたビスケットは、モーニングティーに半分浸されていたところ、ビスケットが急に軽くなったように感じました。

The biscuit suddenly felt lighter, the dipped half had fallen in! A true horror!
紅茶に浸していたビスケットが途中で割れて、カップの中に落ちた。なんとも恐ろしい光景でした！

Toast stood rubbing the newly formed bump on his head, Charlie rose to reach for a care kit in the cupboard accidentally causing multiple boxes to fall down on her.
トーストは頭にできたばかりのこぶをこすりながら立っていると、チャーリーが食器棚のケアキットを取りに行こうと立ち上がった。すると、うっかりいくつも箱が落ちてきた。
Toast moved out of the way but instead his hand slipped on the countertop and onto the tap, water shot out all over the kitchen!
トーストは避けたが、代わりに彼の手が滑ってキッチンのタップを擦って、蛇口から水がキッチン中に吹き出した！

They both paused for a moment, taking in what had just happened.
二人は一瞬立ち止まり、今起きた出来事を見つめた。

After a breath they decided to move past the mess of the morning by packing up the remaining breakfast and heading out.
一息ついた後、残りの朝食を片付けて出かけることにした。

They walked along the hill tops, feeling better with each step they took, until the mishap had been forgotten and laughter took it's place, for a joyful heart does such good.
二人は丘の頂上を歩き、一歩ずつ気持ちが楽になっていった。そして、あの出来事は忘れ去られ、笑いがこみ上げてきた。喜びに満ちた心はいい働きをする。

On the green grass, surrounded by the sway of nature and a tasty meal, a true contentment was felt by both of them.
芝生の上で、自然と美味しい食事に包まれ、二人は心の底から満足していた。
